Our contract hire and lease cars are made throughout the World, with very few of them being British. So what exactly happened to the British car industry and all the famous British brands?

Some say it lost out due to lack of competitiveness, some say it was the unions that brought about its downfall, whilst others blame management. In reality it was more than likely a combination of these and several other factors, rather than simply being attributable to one or the other.

Whereas British manufacturing was quickly deteriorating, foreign car manufacturers were focusing on steadily improving both their quality and standard of work. During the British car industry’s darkest period (the 1970’s), unions saw management so afraid of them that they were able to dictate to management the maximum number of cars that could be failed by the quality control team (meaning scores of unfit cars made it to the sales courts in the UK).

What the unions and their members failed to consider however was the British consumers right to look elsewhere for their vehicles; a right they began to excercise wholeheartedly in the late 70’s.. That is what happened and the number of foreign cars on Britain’s roads steadily increased. British cars gradually acquired a global reputation for being poor quality cars, that were always surpassed by foreign models.

Nowadays things are different, British cars are of vastly improved quality and reliability but how British are the British cars of today? Land Rover and the ever popular Jaguar are both owned by Tata (a huge Indian corporation) and were previously owned by American car makers, Ford. Bentley is owned by Volkswagen and the quintessentially British Rolls Royce are owned by German giants, BMW. Aston Martin’s controlling stake is represented by Investment Dar (an Islamic investment group) and Lotus is owned by Malaysian car manufacturer Proton.

So can we expect British cars to compete in the car leasing market? It doesn’t look too hopeful, with Audi, BMW and Ford car leasing selling much better than British counterparts. As more and more foreign cars begin to flood the British market it looks unlikely that successful foreign brands and manufacturers are unlikely to be replaced with British brands anytime soon.

There are many car accessories out there that people really like but most people think are absolutely pointless and they range from the silly to the utter ridiculous. Here are a few of the ones that people like that are very bad indeed.

Bullets In The Car

People really do seem to actually want their cars to look like someone has come along and tried to pepper the vehicle with bullets, they are in fact just simple stickers that people have placed on the car and up close they look very bad so I would not advise you getting anything like this. Something else that adds to the stupidity effect of these poor stickers is that they seem to look like they have been fired from the inside of the car, not a good thing at all!

Rubbish Ornaments

A lot of people like going out and seeing if they can find terrible looking ornaments to stick onto the top of their vehicles, it would seem that the main reason for people doing this is so that they can look a lot more sophisticated than they really are. The thing that I would advise you do is to only get one of these if they already come with the car, it will look very sill otherwise.

Baby On Board Stickers

This seems to be the only one in the list that I saw that I really do disagree with. Baby on board stickers in my mind are very useful things because it tells drivers to be more careful around you. If you get into an accident and you have the sticker on the back of the car it lets the medics know there is a small child inside.

So there you have it, although things like Gap insurance may come in useful along with those car mats it would seem that most of these are really not needed at all so you do not need to worry about them!

Understanding government auctions isn’t hard and it can really put you on the track to some good deals. Government auctions have been going on for years but still there are lots of people who, in spite of the fact that they’ve heard of them, just don’t know much about them. So they have a lot of questions as to just exactly how they work, and how they can get in on the gravy. This article will answer a lot of those questions.

Cars are not the only thing sold at government auctions. High end items like real estate, SUVs, boats and even airplanes are up for grabs at government auctions. Though these are not the only stuff you can get for cheap, other things include various farm equipments, electronic appliances, bicycles, trucks and any items that are still of value even as a used item will be sold through these auctions.

Many newbies to government auctions wonder why the government sells all these items, why for so cheap, and where does it all come from. Well, they sell them because they have to pay to store it once it comes into their possession. Government auctions are a way to liquidate these items and cut down their storage costs. It’s a law that government agencies are to put the surplus items up for bid at auctions. As to where it comes from, the surplus items are just over-stocked items that are no longer needed. When the government has no further need for them, they auction them off.

Not all auction items are from surplus items, some are because the law enforcement has seized them from criminals that engage in nefarious activities, properties and vehicles were seized when they were convicted. The items might have also come from less shady sources, it may just have been obtained by financial institutions because of loan defaults and foreclosures, all of the items would probably end up at auctions.

Some items at government auctions are sold as is. You could take a chance with these types of items but most people would be worried of the condition. If this is the case then you would be probably better off checking out government auctions that allow you to inspect the items before the bidding commences. Another reason is if that if you win the item, you would have to pay in full so any information you can find out about the merchandise you’re bidding on beforehand would prevent any frustrations later.

Auction houses will gladly accept cash when it comes to payment terms. Although some might even allow postal money orders or credit cards, this might be useful if you happen to some sort of dispute later on. But don’t worry too much; even though a lot of there government auctions are contracted out to private companies, with a little research on your part nothing should go wrong. As with most things in life, use common sense when attending and purchasing at these auctions and how you handle your money, and you’ll do just fine.

I just visited the country which has the longest coastline in the World. Greece is surrounded by Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea and Mediterranean Sea. It is definitely one of the most beautiful countries I have visited in Europe but it has one downside to it in personal view which is the driving. Driving is a nightmare in Athens. We hired 3 used cars for the six days of our trip and we felt we were driving in Asia not in Europe.

The traffic is horrific. People are pushing for spaces on the road, some people drive through tram lines, which is terribly dangerous. The main downside are the road signs. Everything thing is in Greek especially if you are find your away round Athens it will take you whole day, you definitely need a navigation but then you have another problem navigation is in Greek too.

But if you go outside Athens driving is awesome. Our drive to Delphi which is situated 3 hours away from Athens in the heart of mountains is an amazing experience. The road to Delphi is through the mountain from which you will be able to see amazing landscapes of Greece. It can be dangerous if you are a careless driver so I would suggest you to keep your eyes on the road. It reminded me of our driving experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. My best driving experience compare to my friends was certainly driving in the island of Poros and Aegina. There are few temples and beautiful historical sculptures to see in this island so hiring a car is definitely a good thing.

Driving is certainly a nightmare in Athens but outside the city its a treat. You will just need time to get used to Athen’s traffic and road signals. If you are travelling during the spring or summer time, it is better to hire a car rather than driving in public transports, as it gets boiling hot in Greece. Public transport also only run till 11p.m..

We hired Audi A4 Saloon for our trip to Delphi and Arachova so I thought I will tell you a bit about this car. I have always loved writing car reviews on cars which I have used on my holidays to let help you people decide which car is the best to drive in which country. I never had no problem with the Audi and I definitely recommend you to hire this car when you visit Greece.

There do seem to be quite a lot of people at the moment that are outraged at the amount of people that we see on the roads crashing because of things like television screens getting in the way of driving. Are these claims true or are people simply putting blame on things like this to attempt to claim on things like gap insurance?

A lot of people seem to think that televisions in the back is a bad idea but what is the best way to keep the kids quiet during the course of the journey, a TV of course. The kids will actually get to choose the things that they watch in the back which means that for the entire journey they should actually keep pretty quiet.

Most of the time, and I say most of the time, it would seem that the screens are in the back of the car which means if your children are old enough you can give them a pair of headphones to put on and listen to it that way. Of course this would mean that the sound would be drowned out by the headphones meaning concentration for the driver.

In the front of the car, that is a different story and I do not believe that this is needed at all because at some point the driver is most certainly going to look up at some point. The worst thing is that all it takes is a small amount of looking at the screen to end up in a bit of a crash.

If you end up crashing because of something like this you will find yourself looking for bad credit car loans and bad credit car finance.

There are a lot of people out there that get forced into taking driving lessons when they really do not want to do it and this is very unfair indeed and you could end up with very disastrous consequences, here is why you should not do it.

Safety

The chances are that you do not feel comfortable behind the wheel of a car for a reason. If you are really scared of hurting yourself then you are going to be putting people off driving altogether. If you want to conquer a fear then it may be worth at least trying a driving lessons, if you cannot do it then do not. Do not let someone tell you that it is a problem if you still do not feel up for doing it because all in all, it really is not at all.

Environment

A lot of people do not like the idea of driving because of the effect it has on the environment and this is true it does have an effect and sometimes walking is easier. There is no way at all that you should be trying to convince someone in learning to drive when they are walking everyday in fact you should really be learning from them.

Exercise

Getting fit is not easy there is no doubt about that but why drive for 5 minutes when all you can do it get up a bit earlier and walk 10 minutes into work, it helps a lot. If you prefer to walk because you enjoy it or because you like to keep in fit make sure you keep it this way.

You Just Don’t Want To

One of the main points is that you should never let someone convince you into doing something that you really do not want to be doing so dont do it1. Besides if you are driving you have to worry about car accessories and other things like gap insurance and bad credit car loans.

Too many people don’t give enough consideration to car tire safety. Most often times the look and feel of the car inside and out is what perspective buyers are drawn to first. The color of the car, what the sound system is like, and the interior come to mind. Whilst you don’t have to ignore the superficial, you should only consider them after finding out about the essentials, such as the engine and tires. You need to know – Are they damaged in any way? How worn down are they? Are they the right size? Are they fitted securely? Especially don’t trust the tires that are already on the vehicle if the car is pre-owned or used. Even if the tires look like they are in good condition, you still need to check whether they are suitable for that particular make and model of car. Tire manufacturer’s recommendation are good for different conditions. It’s your responsibility to make sure that that everything is right with them, not the person’s who you are buying the car from. You can find out everything that you need to know by doing a little research on the Internet, so you have no excuse for not taking the necessary steps. Having the correct tires, that meet with the manufacturer specifications, lowers your insurance costs. Driving on worn down tires, where the tread is showing, is extremely dangerous. All it would take, is some severe weather conditions to develop and you it would be a disaster waiting to happen – fatal even. If an accident were to occur, you could be faced with an increase in premiums and possibly even a lawsuit due to your negligence. So, make sure that your car tires are safe for the road to protect yourself and those who you share the roads with.

The costs of new cars are rising very rapidly indeed and when a survey was conducted, half the people that were asked said the price would stop them from getting a new car. Are all of the costs coming in this year actually going to stop people from buying a car or is this survey simply nonsense?

Emission Tax

Soon to come into play is the emission tax which actually adds up nearly £1,000 extra onto your car if you are after one of the models that guzzles up more fuel than a cross between a Jumbo Jet and a Mission to Mars. Safety should be in cars like the Audi Q5 and Audi TT Coupe. This actually to me almost seems like a fair tax and although the government are pretending to do it for the right reasons, we know it is simply down to the fact they are wanting more money as they are all in debt from the recession.

Even in the recession last year there were many companies that put up their price. Renault, SEAT as well as Vauxhall are three of the bigger companies that put their prices up on more than one occassion last year, Ford on the other hand put their prices up a massive four times meaning their Fiesta went up by £2,500. Are companies really wondering why people are simply not interested in buying a car?

On the plus side you can still get a cheap Audi for a reasonably good price so take into consideration that some manufacturers are a lot better than others. Make sure that you also take a good look on the internet because there are many sites out there that offer prices a lot cheaper than showrooms.

What you need to do when it comes to get a new car is to simply look around the place!

Cars

This was Disney or i should say Pixar’s attempt at getting the younger audiences into cars and it really worked thats for sure. McQueen falls off the back of the truck that is taking him too California and he ends up wrecking the road and having to stay behind and repave. He was actually on his way to win the piston cup and propel his career forward.

Noddy

Noddy from Toyland has been in various feature films and believe it or not he originates from one of Enid Blyton’s books. Noddy is actually a wooden puppet and he ran away after his maker was developing a wooden lion. When he is lost in the woods he meets Big Ears who is a friendly Brownie (a type of goblin). Big Ears meets Noddy and decides that he is a toy so takes him home to Toyland. It is Noddy’s car that we really need to be interested in, did you know that Noddy was actually a taxi driver. When his taxi business isn’t doing great he will drive around the town helping people out.

Transformers

This is the big one really has Michael Bay has turned this into a world wide success. Characters like Optimus Prime and Megatron existed long before the two smash hit films were released and of course the entire films are set around transforming, robotic cars.

For bad credit car loans make sure you look into gap insurance as it can really help you out. Also look into cheap car leasing, as this is often the cheapest option out there.

A snow day certainly causes a lot more accidents than the average day does and this is obviously down to the fact that the conditions for driving are terrible and people will just not listen and drive into work regardless. How come there seem to be more accidents in the snow than there has been in a long time?

Although we have seen some of the worst snow in a while it doesnt seem like it is this that is the reason behind it, the people driving on the roads are the problem.

The people were just not listening to the warnings on going slow, by the way slow doesn’t mean the normal 30mph on the smaller roads, we are talking 5-10 speeds just to make sure that you do not slip on the ice and crash into something. However there were still people driving along way over the speed limit and risking both themselves and other people by doing so.

If people cut down their speeds I am sure the figure would fall by quite a lot, this isnt the only reason for the accidents.

The other reason is stupidity, there are so many stupid people out there. If you do not feel that driving is going to be safe thing to do then the best thing to do is simply stay in or walk. If you go out and do not really feel like you should be driving then you are just as bad as the people speeding! It is very hard and expensive to get a hold of bad credit car loans and if you have crash on top of bad credit it will do you no favours at all.

If you do not feel that comfortable then go out and Luton van leasing as you are likely to get across the roads a lot better. At least you will not need to refrigerated van lease!
